Results:

We sort our list by BEST to WORST 1 Year Return without DRIP (dividend reinvestment). Total 1 Year Return is comprised of Price Appreciation and Dividends collected in the past 12 months (not Year-to-Date).

Some funds are newer than 12 months. In that case, the 1 year return is calculated since inception.

Covered Call Income ETFs from Defiance, Roundhill, KRUV, REX, JP Morgan and *YLDs:

High Yield ETFs/Funds are “income-focused investments”. Their primary goal is usually “to provide monthly/weekly” income, and not to provide capital appreciation. We compiled a list of “alternative” High Yield ETFs that generate income with covered calls strategy – either by owning shares of underlying stocks, or creating a “synthetic” position, and selling covered calls against the synthetic, as well as other option strategies, such as Puts, 0 DTE (zero days to expiration), etc.

Synthetic covered calls strategy was originally popularized by YieldMax (which is operated by Tidal Investments LLC / ZEGA Financial, LLC).

In this comparison, we do not include YieldMax ETFs, as there are more than 20 of them, and list is constantly growing. It would make this roundup too bloated. Since we did not include YieldMax funds in this list, we call the the “ALTERNATIVE” high yield ETF list.

In this list we include newer Defiance, Roundhill, KRUV, REX funds, as well as “older” JP Morgan ETFs and *YLDs.

This list will be updated on the ongoing basis, as more similar ETFs / FUNDS are created. We do not include Levareged ETFs in this list, as their main goals are NOT to provide income.

Finally we include the more established JP Morgan’s income ETFs such as JEPI and JEPQ, as well as older and “not so popular any more” *YLD funds (QYLD, XYLD and RYLD).
