Company Info
Metro Inc. (MTRAF) had its IPO on 2010-04-26, and is traded on OTC stock exchange.
Established in 1947 and headquartered in Montréal, Canada, Metro Inc. is a diversified entity engaged in the retail, franchising, distribution, and manufacturing of products within the food and pharmaceutical sectors across Canada. The company operates numerous supermarkets and discount stores, offering a broad selection of items including fresh and packaged groceries, baked goods, prepared meals, various meats, dairy products, produce, frozen foods, and specialized Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare. As of September 25, 2021, its extensive network comprised approximately 963 food retail locations under names like Metro, Metro Plus, Super C, Food Basics, Adonis, and Premiere Moisson. Furthermore, it oversaw about 649 drugstores, primarily identified by the Jean Coutu, Brunet, Metro Pharmacy, and Food Basics Pharmacy banners. Beyond its retail footprint, Metro Inc. also produces generic pharmaceuticals and provides convenient online grocery shopping options.
